App guides
Smart STB on Samsung and LG
Short answer
Smart STB makes an ordinary Samsung or LG TV behave like a MAG box. The app shows a MAC address starting with 00:1A:79, and that address is what gets linked to your account. You then point the app at the portal address support gives you.
The app's own fee
The app charges a one-off fee in the TV's app store after the trial period. That fee goes to the app developer, not to your provider.
- 1
Install the app
Search for Smart STB in the TV's app store and install it. Start the app and a MAC address beginning with 00:1A:79 appears.
- 2
Send the MAC address
Send the full MAC address to support in the chat. It is linked to your account before the app can load anything.
- 3
Open the portal settings
Go to Settings (the cog) → Profiles, select the profile and open Portal settings.
- 4
Fill in the portal
Enter any Portal name you like and paste the portal address support gave you. We never publish portal addresses here – you get yours directly in the chat.
- 5
Restart the portal
Save and choose Restart portal, or close the app completely and open it again. The channel list now loads from the portal.
Common errors in this app
Only one portal device per account
If you already have a TVIP box connected to the portal, Smart STB cannot be used at the same time. The account allows one portal-connected device at a time.
"Loading portal" never ends
Check that the portal address is entered exactly, including the trailing slash, and set DNS to 8.8.8.8 on the TV.
"Your STB is blocked"
The MAC address is not approved against the portal. Check that the subscription is active and send the MAC address to support again.
MAC not registered
The address has not been registered yet, or you sent the wrong one. Read it again in the app and send it in the chat.
